Experience relevant to domestic
violence:
Established Knox County Task Force Against Domestic Violence in 1986; drafted original domestic violence policy for Knoxville Police Department and assisted in drafting violence policy for Knox County Sheriff's Department; police training on domestic violence in Knoxville, Alcoa, Blount County, City of Maryville, and Loudon County; attorney training on domestic violence in Knox County and Blount County; domestic violence training for General Sessions Judges for the State of Tennessee; judicial and clerk of court training on domestic violence laws in Knox County; established pro bono unit on domestic violence cases
for Volunteer Legal Assistance Program for the Knoxville Legal Aid Society; attended numerous national trainings on domestic violence.
Experience relevant to mediation:
Took 40-hour divorce training with Zena Zumeta and John Schneider in 1991; attended 1993 and 1997 AFCC conferences; took various trainings with KBAMS, the AAA, the Watertown Project; South Carolina Mediation Services; participated as trainer in KBAMS trainings and Community Mediation Services Juvenile Court training; mediated clients for KBAMS and Community Mediation Service as well as private clients; served as mentor for new mediators; approved as Rule 31 mediator by the Tennessee Supreme Court Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution; approved as Rule 31 mediation trainer by the Tennessee Supreme Court Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution since 1998; conducted over
30 trainings for Rule 31 civil and family mediation; and conducted trainings on domestic violence issues in mediation.
